After graduating from college, Sung-ha develops into a talented businessman. But after a single mistake, he receives his discharge notice. He spends his days drinking. Then he falls in love with a woman, whom reminds him of his mother.
Summary
After graduating with honors, Sung-ha swiftly climbed the ranks at a Canadian investment firm, earning a reputation as a talented businessman. However, one fateful misstep led to his dismissal. Estranged from his former life, Sung-ha descended into a spiral of alcoholism and gambling. His world changed when he met Phoebe in a subway station, a woman whose smile held echoes of his long-lost mother.
Phoebe was no stranger to pain. Sexually abused by her stepfather and plagued by incurable physical ailments, she found solace in the numbing embrace of tequila, drugs, and prostitution. Yet, amidst her turmoil, Sung-ha saw strength, and they formed an unlikely bond. Together, they sought refuge in each other's arms, hoping to heal their wounds as a couple.
But Phoebe's past refused to remain buried. Haunted by memories of abuse and fearing the fragility of their newfound happiness, she struggled to break free from her self-destructive cycle. It was clear that for them to truly move forward, they would need to confront their demons head-on.
