Elisabeth Kaza, a French-Hungarian actress, starred as a paralyzed prostitute in the 1982 Italian film 'Malamore'. Monica Scattini (1 February 1956 – 4 February 2015) was an Italian actress. Films Scattini appeared in include Maniaci sentimentali, for which she won a David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress, and Lontano da dove, for which she was awarded with a Nastro d'Argento for Best Supporting Actress. Her television credits include Un ciclone in famiglia and Recipe for Crime. She also appeared in the films Nine, Le Bal, One from the Heart, and Nora.
Scattini died of cancer on 4 February 2015, aged 59.
She was the daughter of director Luigi Scattini.

Story
Marcello is a dwarf who is kept hidden by his family and falls in love with a prostitute from the local brothel. The prostitute's lover plots to kill the dwarf but she helps him to escape, though at a cost to her own well-being.
Summary
In war-torn Northern Italy, Marcello, a hidden dwarf son of a lawyer, finds respite and connection when his family's villa becomes a military hospital. He meets and falls for Lila, a local prostitute who sees beyond his stature. However, her lover, jealous of Marcello's affection and wealth, plans to eliminate him. In a desperate bid to protect Marcello, Lila helps him escape but pays the ultimate price, suffering paralysis after being struck by a vehicle. Despite her injuries, Lila remains devoted to Marcello, bound by their shared ordeal.
