Full Biography

Born in Rome, Italy, Fotinì Peluso is a prominent actress of dual Italian and Greek heritage. She was born as Fotinì Peluso to an Italian father and a Greek mother, growing up in a bilingual environment that allowed her to master both Italian and Greek as native languages. Her name, "Fotinì," is of Greek origin, derived from the word for "light" (phos), which she has described as a defining part of her identity.

Peluso's path to acting was not immediate; she initially pursued academic interests, earning a degree in Economics from Roma Tre University while simultaneously studying acting under Mario Grossi at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. She also refined her craft internationally, attending the renowned Cours Florent drama school in Paris.

Her professional career began in television with the 2018 series Romanzo famigliare, followed by a breakthrough role as a young pianist in La compagnia del cigno (2019). She made her film debut in The Kingdom (Il Regno) in 2020. Peluso gained widespread international recognition for her performance as Nina in the Netflix series Everything Calls for Salvation (Tutto chiede salvezza, 2022), which earned her the Ciak d’oro and the Biraghi Award.

In 2023, she was honored with a David di Donatello award for "Italian Rising Star". Now in 2026, she stars in the major Greek-Italian production The Great Chimera, portraying the lead character Marina, a role that bridges her two cultural backgrounds. Beyond her native tongues, she is also fluent in English and French, often working in international co-productions like the series Greek Salad (Salade grecque).
