Full Biography
Jessica Marie Alba, born on April 28, 1981, in Pomona, California, is a prominent American actress and highly successful entrepreneur. Growing up in an Air Force family, she moved frequently during her childhood—living in Mississippi and Texas—before her family eventually settled back in California when she was nine. Despite facing significant health challenges as a child, including frequent bouts of pneumonia and partially collapsed lungs, Alba remained determined to pursue her passion for acting, which she had discovered at the age of five.
Her professional journey began at 13 with a role in the film Camp Nowhere (1994) and a recurring part in the Nickelodeon series The Secret World of Alex Mack. However, it was her breakout performance as Max Guevara in the James Cameron-produced sci-fi series Dark Angel (2000–2002) that catapulted her to international stardom, earning her a Golden Globe nomination. Following this success, she became a staple of early 2000s cinema, starring in major box office hits such as the dance-drama Honey (2003), the stylized crime thriller Sin City (2005), and as Susan Storm in Marvel's Fantastic Four franchise.
Beyond her Hollywood accolades, Alba has reinvented herself as a powerhouse in the business world. Driven by her personal history of illness and a desire to provide safe products for her children, she co-founded The Honest Company in 2011. The brand, which focuses on non-toxic, eco-friendly household and baby products, grew into a billion-dollar enterprise and went public in 2021. Today, Alba is recognized not only for her versatile acting career but also as a dedicated advocate for wellness and a leading figure for women in entrepreneurship.
