Full Biography

Ann-Kathrin Kramer was born as Ann-Kathrin Kramer (her birth name remains the same) on April 4, 1966, in Wuppertal, Germany.

She is a highly regarded German actress and author whose career path was quite unconventional. After leaving school at sixteen, she spent time in Greece working as a portrait painter for tourists and later trained as a shop window designer. It wasn't until she was 26 that she decided to pursue acting professionally, enrolling at the Gmelin Drama School in Munich.

Her breakthrough came in the mid-1990s with the crime series Die Partner, and she has since become a staple of German television, appearing in numerous films and series such as Das merkwürdige Verhalten geschlechtsreifer Großstädter zur Paarungszeit and the Sister Camilla movie series. In addition to her acting career, she is a successful writer, known for her children's book series Matilda.

Kramer is married to the Austrian actor Harald Krassnitzer, and they frequently appear on screen together. She has a son, Leonard, from her previous relationship with actor Jan Josef Liefers. Alongside her artistic work, she is actively involved in charitable organizations supporting sexually abused children and children's hospices.
