Full Biography
Born as Victoria Carmen Sonne on April 23, 1994, in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Danish actress has rapidly established herself as a significant force in contemporary Nordic cinema. Of Polish, Persian, and Russian descent, she was raised in the Danish capital and demonstrated an early passion for the arts, becoming the youngest applicant ever accepted into the Danish National School of Performing Arts, from which she graduated in 2016.
Sonne's professional breakthrough came shortly after graduation with her role in In the Blood (2016), which earned her the Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actress. She gained international acclaim for her fearless performances in festival hits such as Winter Brothers (2017) and especially Isabella Eklöf's Holiday (2018), the latter of which secured her a second Bodil Award. Recognized as a "Shooting Star" at the 2020 Berlinale, she has continued to take on challenging lead roles in films like Neon Heart (2018) and Godland (2022), consistently choosing projects that explore complex identities and human vulnerabilities.
